Conquest House in Canterbury is full of history and craftsmanship; covered, both inside and out, with carvings dating back from the 14th Century. The building is an homage to the artisan makers of old and the ideal setting for the professional judges to view our maker’s competition designs and finished pieces.

The judging panel (from left to right): Isabelle Capitain, a fine jeweller based in London; David Lilford owner of the Lilford Gallery; and Sarah Sturt, the Editor of Kent Life Magazine, enjoyed the remarkable surroundings and the opportunity to view the team’s jewellery designs.

The panel were presented with the final pieces, accompanying sketches and photo diaries, which documented the story from concept to creation.

All three judges commented on the high quality of craftsmanship, invention and creativity demonstrated and spent a considerable amount of time studying and discussing the merits of each design.

Consensus was reached on the piece that the judges felt was the best overall… however we are not going to reveal that yet!

All of the pieces will be exhibited in our King’s Mile shop from 22 August. Ortwin is very proud of his team’s achievements and invites you to come and see their talents on show.
