Palladium & Diamond Set Patterned Dress Ring
This Palladium 950 and Diamond band, measures 4.5mm in width, with a textured finish to the surface and flush set with a round brilliant cut Diamond set centrally on the band.
A sister metal of Platinum, Palladium has all the attributes of Platinum without the density. Palladium is a rare and lustrous silvery-white metal discovered in 1803 by the English chemist William Hyde Wollaston. He named it after the asteroid Pallas, which was itself named after the epithet of the Greek goddess Athena, acquired by her when she slew Pallas. The head of Pallas Athene adorns all hallmarked Palladium as its defining mark. Palladium 950 has 95% purity with just a 5% alloy mix making it as bright and white as Platinum. Palladium 500 is just 50% pure with 50% alloys making it much more grey in colour.
