Conflict Free Diamonds and Fair-Trade Diamonds

All diamonds supplied by us are Conflict Free.

Conflict Diamonds are diamonds illegally traded to fund conflict in war-torn areas, particularly in central and western Africa.

In 2000 the global diamond industry stipulated a zero tolerance policy towards conflict diamonds. This led to the formal setting up of the 'Kimberley Process Certification System' which guards against conflict diamonds entering the legitimate diamond supply chain.

For the supply of fair trade diamonds we have a unique source for Diamonds mined in Fairtrade Cooperatives in Lesotho and Sierra Leone. The Diamonds are cut in a Fairtrade Cooperative in India. To my knowledge this are the only diamonds that can be traced back to the mine. The Stones are generally about 30% more expensive, supply and choice is limited. Please contact me if you want any further information.

We are always happy to work on commissions where customers want to use their own stones or stones they have sourced themselves. It is important to us, that we make sure these stones have come from an ethical source. For customers who would like us to re-use stones from existing jewellery, particularly antique jewellery, we are prepared to do this as it is not possible to know one way or the other.
